Shanghai Drives AI Innovation and Governance at World Artificial Intelligence Conference

China's leading city Shangh is playing a pivotal role in fostering innovation and governance.

During the annual World Conference WC, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization UNIDO's Global Alliance onfor Industry and Manufacturing Center of Excellence was officially inaugurated. This move underscores Shangh's commitment to building anpowerhouse, according to official sources.

The UNIDO Director-General Gerd Muller announced the launch of this pioneering center at the WC High-Level Meeting on GlobalGovernance, underlining its significance in enabling developing nations to benefit fromand manufacturing practices from China.

The center facilitate technology transfer, skill development, and industry collaboration across sectors like translation, education, pharmaceutical research, weather forecasting, agriculture, finance, and tourism. It also seeks to advocate for globalgovernance norms that promote responsible and inclusive technological advancements benefiting all countries, especially those in the Global South.

Shangh's efforts ext beyond establishing thecenter; during the WC opening ceremony, Party Secretary Chen Jining unveiled the Shangh Declaration on GlobalGovernance. This declaration, which emphasizes collaborative development, safety, and shared benefits fromtechnology, underscores Shangh’s ambition to set a global precedent forgovernance.

As of July 1st, China and over 140 countries secured unanimous approval at the United Nations General Assembly for a resolution advocating for strengthened international cooperation oncapacity-building. This orsement signifies global consensus around responsibledevelopment and showcases Shangh's pivotal role in advancing these discussions.

Shangh has positioned itself as a key player by leveraginginnovations across diverse platforms, strengthening legal frameworks, and enhancing services in related sectors. The city is poised to continue its leadership in promotinggovernance through strategic partnerships and initiatives that m to benefit ity as a whole.
